SFRLB – Great Outdoors Valentine’s day Date!

When Henry Met Alex, or Shane Met Ilya? Come join a cross-club meet-and-greet this Valentine’s Day! The Long Beach Shoreline Frontrunners (SFRLB) invite the Great Outdoors OCLB and all other chapters for a morning of fun and connection. We hope this event provides an opportunity for each club to check the other out while making new friends. We are thrilled to bring these two groups together; with their ultra-fun and activity-loving members, both clubs offer a complementary schedule of events and adventures.

About the Shoreline Frontrunners. Founded in 1984, the SFRLB is an LGBTQ+ oriented running and walking club rooted in community building and advocacy. As a chapter of a global community, they participate in marathons and athletic events worldwide and host the annual Long Beach Pride Run in May. Banner activities include a weekly Saturday morning 5k on a mostly flat beach path—often drawing up to 60 members—as well as weekday evening runs on alternating routes. They also host monthly social activities, including brunches, Friday socials, and banquets. Past highlights include TopGolf, Naples Gondola rides, and a “Sexy Santa” bar crawl. Whether you are a runner or a walker, all ages and expertise levels are welcome. Members also enjoy generous discounts from gear and local vendors.

About the Great Outdoors (GO). The Great Outdoors is one of the oldest and largest LGBTQ+ outdoor recreational organizations in the U.S. Founded in 1978, its history reflects the community’s desire for social spaces beyond the traditional nightlife scene, famously captured by the slogan, “Out of the Bars, Under the Stars.” The OCLB chapter serves a massive footprint, spanning from the South Bay and Long Beach through all of Orange County. OCLB is known for balancing rugged adventure with social connection. While they offer year-round camping, international cruises, and mountain hikes, they are also famous for “urban hikes,” cycling, and pool parties. Today, GO consists of five primary Southern California chapters; members can join events across all chapters for a low annual fee.

So get your “heart-ons” ready and mingle this Valentine’s Day! We’ll start with a run/walk followed by brunch at Let’s Yolk About It. Known for being vibrant and inclusive, the restaurant features fan favorites like breakfast burritos, Croque Madame, breakfast quesadillas, and their famous “Billionaire Bacon.” Vegan and vegetarian options are available.
